The Recruitment Eligibility Checker compares your qualifications with the requirements that an employer has published for one specific opportunity. You choose an opportunity, answer only the questions that apply to it, and see a criterion-by-criterion explanation.
How to use the checker
- Search for the opportunity by job title, programme name or employer, then select it.
- Read the summary: employer, location, deadline, status and the official source.
- Answer the questions shown. You will only see questions for requirements that were published for that opportunity.
- Select “Check my eligibility” and read the result for each criterion.
- Open the official application page to confirm the requirements and apply there.
What information it asks for
Depending on the opportunity, you may be asked for your highest qualification, course of study, degree or HND classification, graduation year, years of work experience, NYSC status, professional certifications or licences, your location, and, only where an age limit has been published, your age. We never ask for national identification numbers, bank details, passwords or other sensitive identifiers.
How results are calculated
Each opportunity record lists criteria. Every criterion is marked as required, preferred, not specified or not applicable. The checker compares your answer with each required or preferred criterion and reports one of these outcomes:
- Appears to be met: your answer satisfies the published requirement.
- Appears NOT to be met: your answer does not satisfy a mandatory requirement.
- More information needed: you left a question blank, or your answer only partly matches the published wording (for example a related but not identical course title).
- Not enough published detail to assess: the criterion is listed but our record does not contain enough detail to check it.
- Not stated: the employer did not publish a requirement, so we did not assess it. This never counts as a pass.
Preferred criteria are shown for your information and never rule you out. The overall result looks only at mandatory criteria.
Limitations
- The result is an informational guide based on the requirements currently published in our records. It is not an official decision by the employer.
- Employers can change requirements, extend deadlines or apply conditions that are not in the public notice. Always verify on the employer’s official recruitment page.
- Course matching is based on wording. A closely related course may need confirmation from the employer.
- Meeting every criterion does not guarantee shortlisting or selection.
- Your answers are processed to produce the result and are not stored on our server.
Examples
If an opportunity requires a Second Class Lower degree or better and you select Second Class Upper, that criterion appears as met. If it requires NYSC completion and you select “Currently serving”, it appears as not met, and the explanation shows the published requirement beside your answer. If the employer did not publish an age limit, the checker will not ask your age at all.
Frequently asked questions
How can I check whether I qualify for a graduate trainee programme?
Compare your qualification, course of study, classification, graduation year and NYSC status with the requirements in the employer’s notice. You can use our Recruitment Eligibility Checker for opportunities in our records, which explains each requirement separately. Requirements differ between employers and between recruitment exercises, so there is no single rule that applies everywhere.
Can I apply for a graduate trainee job with a Second Class Lower degree?
It depends on the employer and the specific programme. Some programmes state a minimum of Second Class Upper, some accept Second Class Lower, and some do not state a minimum classification at all. Read the published requirements for the programme you want. If the notice does not mention classification, check the employer’s official page or ask them directly.
Are the eligibility checker results official?
No. Results are an informational guide based on the requirements currently published in our records. They are not an official decision by the employer, and meeting the criteria does not guarantee selection. Always verify current requirements on the employer’s official recruitment page.
How can I report incorrect recruitment information?
Use the contact page to tell us which page has the problem, what you believe is wrong and, if possible, a link to the official source. We review reports and publish corrections as described in our Corrections Policy.
